City Introduction

Huangyuan County, a county under the administration of Xining City in Qinghai Province, is located on the eastern shore of Qinghai Lake, at the foot of the Riyue Mountains, and in the upper reaches of the Huangshui River. It covers a total area of 1,509 square kilometers and has a permanent population of approximately 109,900 (as of 2024). The region features a plateau continental climate and is renowned for the Dangge'er Ancient City, its sea buckthorn industry, and distinctive local cuisine.
