Gonghe County is the capital of Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, located in the northeastern part of Qinghai Province on the northeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with a total area of approximately 17,200 square kilometers.
