Team Introduction
7ELEVEN CLIQQ ROADBIKE PHILIPPINES(7RP)-PHI
The Philippine 7-Eleven Continental Team is a long-established continental team in Southeast Asia, founded in 2012. It originated as an amateur club and was registered as a UCI continental team in 2013 under the promotion of the Philippine Cycling Association. Over more than a decade since its establishment, the team has achieved remarkable results in Asian competitions.
In 2016, the team partnered with the Chinese cycling brand SAVA, competing in Chinese UCI continental events including the Tour of Qinghai Lake, Tour of Quanzhou, and Tour of Xingtai under the name 7 Eleven - Sava RBP Team. By 2019, the team was renamed the 7 Eleven Cliqq - Air21 Team. 7-Eleven, the sponsor, is a convenience store chain and also the largest supermarket chain brand in the Philippines, while the sponsor Air21 is known as the "SF Express of the Philippines".
The team is mainly composed of Filipino riders, and has invited high-level riders from countries such as Spain, Ireland, and Japan to join for experience sharing and guidance, focusing primarily on races in Southeast Asia. It is hailed in Asian cycling circles as the "Huangpu Military Academy" for Filipino riders. The core goal of its establishment is to build an international platform for top local riders, giving them the opportunity to participate in high-level Asian UCI Tours such as the Tour de Langkawi, Tour of Thailand, and Tour de Filipinas.
Entering the 2019 season, the team further expanded by establishing a women's team and a U23 youth team. In the early days of its formation, the roster was almost entirely made up of Filipino riders, but in recent years it has significantly accelerated its internationalization pace, bringing in multiple foreign riders from Europe and other regions.
For the 2026 season, the team has attracted several Chinese sponsor brands to join. Meanwhile, it has recruited Antoine Huby, a former rider of the Quick-Step Team, as the core of its sprint lineup to compete in East and Southeast Asian races. The current roster not only has the backbone of local Filipino riders, but also has recruited strong European reinforcements including riders from the former French Quick-Step Team, Irish teams, and Danish teams. This combination of "local veterans + strong European reinforcements" has enabled the team to not only perform actively in flat road breakaways and climbing races in Southeast Asia, but also start heading to more international venues such as Africa (e.g., the Tour du Bénin) to compete for points.
The team has been invited to participate in events such as the Chengdu Tianfu Greenway Race, Guangzhou Cycling Race, and Tour de Taiwan on multiple occasions. At the Chengdu Tianfu Greenway Race, the team invited two Chinese amateur riders, He Shuai and Yang Kai, to compete.
Mark Galedo, a legendary rider, won the individual time trial (ITT) gold medal at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. At the 2014 Tour de Filipinas, he bravely claimed the overall general classification (GC yellow jersey) victory, which was an epic triumph for a local Filipino rider in this event.
Antoine Huby, a sprinter, won the sprints classification and finished second overall for the team at the local Tour of Luzon in the Philippines, and later secured a second-place overall finish for the team at the Tour de Maurice.
The Philippine 7-Eleven Continental Team can be regarded as the banner of Philippine road cycling. It has gradually evolved from a purely local Southeast Asian team into a diversified continental team with European reinforcements and active on the international stage, making it a non-negligible "Blue & Orange Force" in Asian cycling.
