As one of the local teams riding TDQL, Tianyoude has attracted much of the attention from local audience and media every year.
Qinghai Tianyoude Cycling Team is one of the Chinese Continental Teams registered at UCI. Its title sponsor is Qinghai Huzhu highland barley wine factory. The team is native of Qinghai province. It has signed excellent riders including Dong Xiaoyong, Wu Shengjun who has ride the tour several times. Wu Shengjun has also won a stage in the 2009 edition, and was the first one to win the blue jersey (Asian lead rider) last year after the opening stage.
The team’s roaster has included more young riders than ever this year. They would be gaining experience from this race. Since Dong Xiaoyong and Wu Shengjun are both injury-plagued at the moment, the team has not yet announced their roles for this edition.
On the roaster there are also two foreign riders who were also part of the team last year. These two excellent climbers together with Zhang Zhishan, another climber of the team, will focusing on earning the polka dot jersey. KOM is still the team’s priority.
Being local means the team has a privilege knowing the weather. The team also went training in Europe and has been racing across Asia. Riders are physically and technically ready for challenges at TDQL.
