Founded in 2014, Ningxia Sports Lottery – Focus Cycling Team is one of the three Chinese teams riding TDQL this year. The team has attracted eyes with their impressive performances last year. The team debut in TDQL last year and showed its strength. FOCUS was ranked the first among Chinese teams, and third among Asian teams.
TDQL was the team’s main target this year. The team announced this season’s plan, rider list, and sponsors this May. This year, they are sponsored by FOCUS bike, CST tire, Nalini sportswear, Xinzhenfa, Rudy Project helmet, Pohinix eyewear, Bryton meter, and Kangbite nutrition.
It is noted that the team will use the same gear as Team AG2R La Mondiale, the IZALCO MAX serie. AG2R ranks the first among all teams using this bike in Le Tour de France last year and the champion of Paris-Nice.
The team’s roaster includes three Mongolian riders, one Columbian climber and three Chinese riders. The team is local of Ningxia, where the last stage of TDQL will be hosted this year. The three Chinese sprinters of the team will try their best in the final stage.
Xue Mingxing has proved his ability last year. It is his second time riding TDQL. He said, “TDQL is a difficult race with many mountain road. I rode almost all mountain road for several seasons when I wasn’t riding TDQL in almost a single edition of TDQL. Zhang Chunlong and Qiao Feng are new to the team. They’d like to fit better with the team’s strategy in TDQL with their specialties. Another Chinese rider of FOCUS, Deng Kai is not able to ride TDQL this year due to injury.
The team traveled all around China to train for TDQL focusing on endurance. They’ve ride several national competition to keep up with good form.
