Welcome to the Sixth Tour of Qinghai Lake.
In July 2007, the world’s cycling elite will take to Qinghai to pedal their way to glory in the Tour of Qinghai Lake. Across 9 stages, this battle takes in some of the most picturesque in the world. The event will be conducted over a nine-day period from 14 to 22 July 2007.
The total distance of the tour is 1392.7 km and the race distance is 1,342.7 km. The highest altitude during the race is about 3,880m, while the lowest is about 1,771m.
The stages of the 2007 race are as follows: Xining-Qinghai Lake Hotel, Qinghai Lake Hotel-Bird Island, Bird Island-Xihaizhen, Xihaizhen-Guide, Guide-Xining, Xining-Minhe-Xining (parade riding 10km), Xining-Menyuan, Menyuan-Huzhu (transfer 40km to Xining), and Xining Circuit Race.
A total of 140 riders from 20 cycling teams, including UCI professional teams, UCI professional continental teams, UCI continental teams and national teams will take part in this "highest" cycling race in the world. |
