The Second Tour of Qinghai Lake International
Cycling Race took place in Qinghai on August 10th-17th. Mr.
Hein Verbruggen, UCI President, member of IOC and Chairman
of Coordination Commission of IOC for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,
was specially invited to be the honorary president of the Organizing
Committee of TQL. |

The opening ceremony was held on Xinning
Square of Xining City on August 10th, 2003. CCTV TV provided
a live telecast. Mrs. Chen Zhili, State Counselor,
and Indonesian Ambassador in China were present at the opening
ceremony. |

Based on the first race, the Organizing Committee adjusted
the race route by opening two new routes of Xining –Menyuan
and Menyuan-Huzhu and adding 400 km to the distance of the first
edition. 20 teams from the five continents participated in the
race. They were from France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Serbia,
Spain, Moldova, South Africa, Canada, Australia, Indonesia,
Chinese Taipei, Japan, Mongolia, Korea, Hong Kong, China and
Qinghai China. |

opening image and to enhance economic development. |
