The
Yangtze River originates from Jianggendiru glacier
on the southeast side of Geladandong Peak in Tanggula
Mountain.
Geladandong, "the high,
pointed peak" in Tibetan, is 6,620m above
sea level. It is as spotless and fabulous as a
crystal palace.
The sparkling and crystal-clear
ice towers , bridges , forests and columns are
the creation of Nature.
The Tuotuohe River, the first
part of the Yangtze River, originating from melted
ice snowy water of Mt. Geladandong , is rising in
the glaciers among snowy mountains in Yushu Prefecture.
It's the main source of the Yangtze
River and flows eastward and becomes the longest
river in China eventually. |
