| As a branch
mountain of Kunlun Mountain, Amnye Machen is the
east part of the Kunlun range with a height of 6,282m
above sea level. The peak is covered by forever
glacier. The climate there is typical highland continental
climate. Also the weather is changeable even in
a day you could share very different weather, such
as morning snowing, noon raining, afternoon winding.
The vegetation somewhere is bush and somewhere is
grassland, the only tree is cypress. Also there
lives some kind of rare animal such as white-lipped
deer, bears, wolf, and many kinds of mammals. As
Buddhism figure, God Amnye Machen regarded as a
protector of Tibetan lives in the paradise above
the mountain, sometimes he is dressed like a handsome
Tibetan shepherd and sometimes dressed like powerful
god. In Tibetan Buddhism God Amnye Machen is one
of the nine Gods they together created the world.
Locals believe that if people pilgrimage around
the mountain once, he will enjoy a very good future
and no sick any more. The best season for trekking:
from mid-June to late September, even in the hot
summer the weather is cold in the evening. |
