Welcome to the ninth Tour of Qinghai Lake.
In July 2010, the world’s cycling elite will take to Qinghai to pedal their way to glory in the Tour of Qinghai Lake. Across 9 stages plus a criterium, this battle takes in some of the most picturesque in the world. The event will be conducted over a 10-day period from 16 to 25 July 2010.
The total distance of the tour is 1518km, including race distance 1241 km, parade riding 7km and transfer 270km. The maximum altitude during the race is about 3,870m, while the minimum is about 1,880m above sea level.
The stages of the 2010 race are as follows: Criterium in Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, Xining—Ping’an—Zhaba—Tongren, Tongren — Bao’an—Xunhua, Xunhua— Zhaba — Ping’an —Xining, Xining(Duoba Base)—Qinghai Lake, Qinghai Lake—Bird Island, Bird Island—Xihaizhen, Xihaizhen—Mole(Qilian), Qilian-Qingshizui and Xining Circuit Race.
A total of 147 riders from 21 teams, including UCI pro-continental teams, UCI continental teams and national teams will take part in this "highest" cycle race in the world.
The opening ceremony will take place before criterium on July 16th in Huzhu Tu Autonomous County, which is famous for its Qinghai Barley Liquor production |
